Takedownnotes was started as an illustration project by Tony Mullin to help memorize grappling moves in Jiu-Jitsu.

The goal: to take complex choreography and condense it into a single diagramatic layout. The illustration work has since expanded to other subjects to create communication that is both clear and light-hearted.

The TDN logo is partly based on the Roman God Janus with two faces who presided over the beginning and ending of conflict / war and peace.
